Group Head of Sales Academy

About the role

The Group Head of Sales Academy will design, build and run Promasidor's Sales Academy, the central engine for developing commercial talent across 40 African markets. Reporting to the Group Chief Commercial Officer, you will shape learning philosophy, curriculum and certification pathways that support rapid sales force expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Define the Academy architecture, competency framework and modular curriculum for Tier 1, 2 and 3 markets.
• Lead content creation – e‑learning modules, facilitator guides, workbooks, videos and assessments – ensuring bilingual (English/French) and culturally relevant material.
• Develop and implement a digital learning platform strategy, selecting an LMS, hosting content and tracking learner progress.
• Design and operate a train‑the‑trainer model, certify internal trainers and foster a peer‑learning community.
• Create onboarding and induction programs for 4,000 new commercial hires, establishing standards, assessments and buddy systems.
• Build a dedicated Key Account Management capability track, align with Modern Trade strategy and create a certification pathway.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Business, HR, Education, Psychology or related field; specialisation in Learning & Development or Sales Management preferred.
• Certification in learning design (e.g., ATD, CIPD) strongly valued; coaching or facilitation credentials a plus.
• Minimum 5 years experience in a commercial field role (sales, KAM, etc.) with proven leadership in talent development.
