Medical Project Referent – Emergency Pool

About the role

The Emergency Project Medical Referent supports the design, implementation and monitoring of emergency medical activities across MSF West and Central Africa interventions. The role ensures timely, quality medical responses adapted to crisis contexts while supporting field operations and emergency preparedness.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in rapid health assessments, identify medical needs and support emergency response initiation.
• Contribute to the definition and adaptation of medical strategies in emergency contexts and ensure their implementation.
• Supervise and support medical teams in the field, coordinate with ministries of health and partners, and step in for senior medical coordinators when needed.
• Assist in planning, budgeting and monitoring of medical resources.
• Monitor medical indicators, ensure quality of care and produce reports on interventions.

Required profile

• University degree in a medical or paramedical field.
• Minimum 2 years of field experience in humanitarian contexts, including experience as a Project Medical Referent or similar role.
• Experience in emergency contexts; previous MSF or international NGO experience is an asset.
• Working proficiency in English and French.
