Regional HSE Lead - Exploration

About the role

The Regional HSE Lead – Exploration supports the Exploration Field Governance function by driving health, safety and environment practices across multiple exploration sites. The role ensures compliance with Endeavour Group standards and local regulations, strengthens contractor performance, and provides assurance through audits, training and incident learning.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and continuously improve HSE strategies, systems and procedures specific to exploration activities such as drilling, sampling, remote camps and vehicle operations.
• Collaborate with project and line management to report on HSE status, risk management and strategy execution.
• Support risk assessments, safe work method development and ensure critical controls are applied.
• Manage contractor HSE processes including pre‑qualification, mobilization, inductions and performance monitoring.
• Analyse safety and environmental data to identify trends, intervene where needed and escalate serious risks.
• Lead incident investigations, ensure root‑cause analysis, corrective actions and lessons learned are documented and applied.
• Maintain statutory compliance, support HSE budgeting, CAPEX forecasting and AFE validation.
• Develop HSE team performance through objectives, KPIs, coaching and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Produce concise HSE reports on site visits, statistics, contractor performance and action plans.

Required profile

• Significant experience in HSE management within exploration or similar field‑based operations.
• Strong knowledge of corporate HSE standards, local legislation and best‑practice risk management.
• Proven ability to lead audits, inspections and incident investigations.
• Excellent communication skills to engage with project teams, contractors and senior leadership.
• Capability to analyse data, produce reports and drive continuous improvement.
