Assistant Controller

About the role

Wave is seeking a senior finance professional to help build and maintain an effective financial and accounting unit as the company scales in Côte d'Ivoire. You will represent the Finance team to external stakeholders, ensure compliance, and lead a growing finance team.

Key responsibilities

• Represent the Finance unit towards external stakeholders and review company financial transactions.
• Ensure compliance with financial, legal and regulatory requirements, and advise on necessary actions.
• Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
• Manage the external auditor relationship and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Oversee the Finance team: recruit, train, mentor and develop staff.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to design new products from accounting and tax perspectives.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in Auditing, Accounting or Finance, preferably with experience in an audit firm.
• Experience with financial reporting requirements and tax audits in Côte d'Ivoire.
• Fluent in French and English, with strong communication and leadership skills.
• Proven ability to work under pressure, manage time effectively and maintain confidentiality.
