Business & Project Development Manager – Abidjan

About the role

Acted is seeking a Business & Project Development Manager to lead positioning, business development and fundraising activities for its operations in Ivory Coast. You will work closely with the Country Director to shape strategies that respond to humanitarian, climate and socio‑economic challenges in the region.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Country Director in analysing the country’s socio‑economic, humanitarian, climate and political context, with a focus on funding trends and donor strategies.
• Monitor developments in humanitarian aid, climate finance and private‑sector engagement to identify risks and opportunities for Acted.
• Conduct and regularly update stakeholder, donor and partner mapping, covering traditional donors and emerging climate‑finance sources.
• Develop and implement business development and fundraising plans that align with Acted’s mission and the specific needs of northern Côte d’Ivoire.
• Represent Acted in meetings with donors, partners and local authorities to promote collaboration and secure resources.

Required profile

• Proven experience in humanitarian or development contexts with a strong climate and environmental awareness.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to spot opportunities, adapt approaches and take measured risks.
• Balanced approach that combines principled action with pragmatic decision‑making.
• Excellent analytical skills and the capacity to synthesize complex information.
