In‑Store Excellence Manager – Africa

About the role

The Manager, Instore Excellence – Africa acts as the Commercial Excellence centre of expertise for In‑Store Excellence and Distributor Capabilities across Africa. You will advise on Perfect Store standards, build distributor capability, coach market teams and influence execution playbooks across more than 47 markets.

Key responsibilities

• Guide the definition and continuous improvement of Perfect Store standards and support local teams in deploying them across priority outlets.
• Optimize Route‑to‑Market models, monitor key metrics such as numeric distribution growth and sales‑force call compliance, and partner with local GMs on implementation strategy.
• Deploy the BIC Distributor Playbook, develop distributor tiering and performance scorecards, and facilitate Joint Business Planning processes.
• Translate category and brand priorities into market‑level activation calendars, develop activation playbooks, and coach continuous improvement through post‑activation reviews.
• Design, deploy and improve field execution training programs, advise on SFA adoption, and facilitate cross‑market best‑practice forums and case‑study sharing.

Required profile

• 7–10 years of experience in Sales, Trade Marketing or Route‑to‑Market within an FMCG company.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales or equivalent.
• Pan‑African or multi‑market experience covering subsidiaries and distributor markets.
• Proven track record in distributor management, field‑force management and Perfect Store deployment.
• Experience influencing senior stakeholders without direct authority and fluency in English and French.
